TEMPERATURE

1. After lubricating handpiece, run it on the motor 15 - 30 seconds (water off)
2. Take the handpiece off the motor and feel the head Is it cool, warm or hot?
Cool = Good
Warm = Getting close to time to service the handpiece Hot = STOP USING NOW and have your handpiece repaired |
FEEL
|
1. With the handpiece off motor, fully insert a bur in the chuck
2. Twist the bur with your fingers Does it rotate smoothly, or does it feel rough, choppy or clunky?
If it in anyway does not feel smooth, it is time to service the handpiece

SOUND
|
1. Listen to the sound the handpiece makes while you are using it
Does it make a clicking noise?
If at anytime while using the handpiece you hear a clicking noise, it is time to service the handpiece
